Raku firing one of my wheel thrown vases. This vases was glazed with a clear crackle and fired in this gas kiln to 1900°F. That is the temperature that this glaze likes to mature at. Once the glaze melts and smooths over, I remove the vases from the kiln and blow air onto it using a compressor. This air helps the glaze crack/craze. The vase is then placed in a reduction chamber.
